A Prayer for the First Day of Summer

Today marks the first day of our family’s summer. Here are some of the ways I am hoping to see God.

 

May our skin darken and our hair lighten as we splash, run, and play outdoors.

May our bond be strengthened by time spent learning, playing, and resting together. Sprinklers

May our words be full of life and love as we embrace longer hours together each day.

May our souls be renewed by an entire season dedicated to intentional resting from routine.

May our sense of wonder be evoked by sand in our toes and stars twinkling before our eyes.

Amen.
