DOES MY CHURCH STAFF NEED SOUL CARE?
Too many church staffs are spiritually malnourished, and barely healthy enough to be available as pastors. Some church staffs are stressed to the point of division among their ministry leaders. Eleven:28 wants church staffs to be firmly rooted in spiritual community TOGETHER so that they find energy and life to pour into their church. We want them to put their own oxygen masks on first.
how does staff care work?
In person: one of our spiritual directors comes one day a month during office hours. One hour is spent as a staff in contemplative formation. The rest of the day is for one on one spiritual direction with individual church leaders.
Virtual: Spiritual directors from eleven28 will provide one hour of soul care each month for as many staff members as the church requests. Churches can choose from one-to-one care, staff group care, and/or training for church leaders in how to lead their churches in contemplative practices.
What our partner churches say:
“Spiritually and emotionally we deal with difficult “storms” that shower us with stress, guilt, shame, and regret. We are pushed and pulled in all directions by the draining experiences that come our way in life and in ministry. Eleven:28 offers spiritual direction and encouragement, creates a safe place to explore who God is, and restores spiritual rhythm for our staff. It is a refuge for us.” –Jeff Hubbard, Senior Minister
